Meaning of Positive Organizational Behavior:-

  • The study and use of the favorable behavior shown by employees in order to achieve the organizational objective is known as positive organizational behavior.
  • It helps to know how much human resources spend their skills, experience, ability, creativity, thinking, time and effort to achieve organizational objectives, efficiency, effectiveness, productivity and work style enforcement.
  • It studies the measurable, developable and manageable physical and technical capabilities expended by the employee to achieve the organization's objectives.
  • It is also known as positive psychology.
  • Positive organizational behavior refers to the study and improvement of employees' positive qualities, abilities.
  • It emphasizes on developing self confidence, optimism, assertiveness, emotional intelligence in employees.

Factors of Positive Organizational Behavior:- 

1.Self Confidence:-

  • Self confidence is the claim of internal heart that one can achieve the goal with the help of inherent skills, knowledge, experience and foresight.
  • People with high self-confidence are clear-headed, fearless, creative, problem-solvers, big-dreamers, innovators, enjoy stress, meet work needs, and face obstacles to performance.
  •  They always keep themselves motivated.

2.Expectation:-

  • Expectation is the belief or hope in the soul that a positive goal can be achieved even in the deteriorating circumstances through continuous positive effort.
  • People with high expectations determine the outcome they want to achieve, develop a strategy to achieve it, and implement it.
  • People with high expectations struggle with problems, try to find new ways of doing things, live active work lives, enjoy stress.

3.Assertiveness:-

  • Assertiveness is the skill inherent in people to be able to adapt with extreme, difficult, awkward, crisis, adverse, critical, painful, worrying, stressful situations and get rid of them.

  • Such people can easily blend into the society and gather strong social relations and support.

4.Optimism:-

  • Optimism is an inherent tendency in a person, who has the paranoia that even in adverse circumstances, there will be a positive outcome in the future.
  • Such people see potentiality even in adverse situations and preserve their positive energy.
  • They assume the adverse conditions as temporary and they try to create favorable conditions.

5.Emotional Intelligence:-

Subjective well-being is the maximum happiness a person derives from life. It minimizes negative affect while enhancing positive affect. It increases happiness and reduces pain. Subjective well-being refers to a person's life mood, motivation, and satisfaction.

7.Physical health:-

Physical health is a positive state of physiological health. A person in good health has a healthy mind. Such individuals are more likely to exhibit positive organizational behavior and are able to take initiative in the face of challenges.
